William Gillitt aka Wild Will has been operating dirt bike riding tours and academies in the heart of the Zulu Kingdom, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa for almost 6 years now. He is an accomplished rider having achieved success in a range of disciplines and still he loves riding Dirt Bikes every day of his life.
Winning is a combination of your technical skills ( the know how ), the will power ( self dissipline ) and perserverance factore ("vasbyt").
If you really whant it, you will achieve your dreams.
Teach, believe, achieve!
How did you get involved in the world of extreme motorcycling?
I started riding Foot up Trial bikes at about 14 and it was here that I was fortunate to have gained sound technical skill. I then did mountain-biking for a year and my love for being outdoors grew. I suppose motorbike plus bush was just the next “roll of the wheel” in this sequence of events for me.
What test do you believe sets apart true champions?
Dedication , focus and never giving up on your goals. You know when you have to push to get back into the pits for what feels like a lifetime – exhausted & frustrated but … you fix your bike and carry on because passion drives you.
You are never to good or old to learn more and can always strive to improve.
“I enjoy highly technical riding - rocks, logs, off cambers, hill-climbing, river crossings and ruts. Throw a bit of rain into the mix just before a race - and I am ready. The tougher – the better.
